Dr. Khurram Shaikh
Dr. Khurram Shaikh, MD is a Harvard Medical School trained, board certified psychiatrist with a passion to help adults, adolescents and children for their mental health wellbeing. He specializes in treatment of diverse psychiatric ailments like mood disorders, psychotic disorders,anxiety disorders,addiction disorder and personality disorders. Dr Shaikh is also experienced in treating psychiatric disorders of children and adolescents including ADHD, Learning disabilities and Autism spectrum disorders.
He is a staff psychiatrist with Montgomery County Mental Health Treatment facility and covers outpatient child psychiatry clinics at Texas Children’s Hospital. In past Dr. Shaikh was full time faculty at Baylor College of Medicine, The Menninger Clinic and Texas Children's Hospital.
Dr. Shaikh trained in General Psychiatry at CAMC (Charleston Area Medical Center) University of West Virginia. He completed his post residency fellowship from the prestigious Children’s Hospital Boston, the free standing pediatric hospital of Harvard Medical School specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
He attended Sind Medical College, University of Karachi in Pakistan. After finishing medical school he joined faculty as an assistant professor in Forensic medicine and Toxicology at Hamdard College of medicine.
Dr.Shaikh lives with his wife and children in the neighborhood. He has a special interest in astronomy and loves visiting observatories across the country. He also enjoys outdoors and cycling.

- Presented papers on sleep disorder at The Annual Sleep medicine conference in Maryland.
- Organized and lead a multidisciplinary team including nursing, social workers and psychologist to understand, diagnose and treat complex patients at the ATP (Adolescent) Professionals in Crisis and COMPAS (Young adult) units, The Menninger Clinic.
- Established a super specialty outpatient child and adolescent psychiatry clinic as part of a multi-disciplinary clinic under the umbrella of Baylor College of Medicine and Ben Taub Hospital.
- Organized and started an adult and child psychiatry clinic with Federally Qualified Clinic (FAQ) program in downtown Houston.
- Managed two regular super specialty clinics for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry , mentored social workers with Texas Children's Hospital.
- Worked closely with MHMRA in a correctional setting, running two dual diagnosis outpatient clinics.
